Welcome to my new blog on sustainable living. My name is Laura Jean Karr and I am a writer, artist, Pagan and former full time self affirmed tree hugger. Like many who grew up to parents who were semi-active in the Hippie movement, my early life was full of awareness and as I became an adult I did hold on to the majority of what can be called my tree huggy ways. Over the past few years I a broke away from the ideals of sustainable living and I just generally let myself fall into the mainstream of how society has lived, burning through what remains of our precious resources. I’m not proud of it by any means but it is what happened.

Now in my daily life, I look back and dearly miss growing my own food and living off the grid. Though at the moment not all sustainable practices are a reality for my daily life, I am going to commit to getting back to the “roots” of sustainable living. As much as that can be done from an apartment in the city.

So here in this blog, dear readers you will find my personal experiences with going back to green as well as updated news and articles that will help you get closer to living in a green way.
